P.L.A.Y.S. is the premier provider of academic, nutritional
and physical fitness programs serving the Southern
Dallas area.
In 2001, I became aware of the need to create a
culture of strong positive leadership that will improve
the quality of life for our youth. What I observed
was children residing in the Southern regions of
Dallas are more at risk to drop out of school, participate
in unacceptable and unlawful behavior. Many of them
have been labeled as troublemakers as early as the
age of 10.
In developing P.L.A.Y.S., my dream was to take these
children that society has marked and abandoned and
embrace their attributes, drawing attention to their
positive contributions that they will some day offer.
We recognize that some children display negative
behavior, which P.L.A.Y.S. does not dismiss or attempt
to disguise. The organization identifies those behaviors
and needs, both positive and negative ones. After
this process we focus on how we can make a difference
in that child’s life, what it would take to
help him/her build their self-esteem, improve their
confidence in themselves their lives at home, at
school and in the community.
At P.L.A.Y.S. we are willing to take the time and
be a positive role model in each phase of a child’s
development, physically, mentally and spiritually.
Regardless of our race, poverty level or position
in society, we all want what is best for our children;
a good education, a chance to develop both emotionally
and physically; and to have the opportunity to become
successful and productive citizens within their communities.
We are here to help.P.L.A.Y.S.,
taking youth fitness and education to a higher level,
together, we can make a difference.
